LET THE SUNSHINE THROUGH

Now is the time of year that you may well notice the mature & semi mature trees in your garden more than ever. 

Although it is important and pleasing to have mature trees in gardens, some homeowners do find that they cause a lack of light and heavy shading. 

For some time it has been the assumption that topping or reducing trees will gain more light, however this is counterproductive as many trees will grow back twice as fast & twice as hard, thereby causing an even bigger problem.

A lot of the time, it is better to thin out the crown by selectively removing individual branches throughout the whole crown and also to raise the crown by removing the lower branches. 

This work is highly specialised but done properly the end result will be a dappled light coming through the crown of the tree and underneath the crown of the tree. 

This is a much better option & long term solution and kinder to the tree.
